This video is used as a teaching aid to introduce the idea of a circuit involving both resistive elements and a capacitor ( RC circuits). This circuit uses a constant source of potential difference (i.e. a direct current (DC) circuit).
Observe the relative brightness of the bulb / bulbs in the demonstrations:

Demo#1: Simple Circuit (3V potential difference source + 1 bulb)
Demo #2: Series Circuit (3V potential difference source + 2 bulbs in series )
Demo #3: Series Circuit with Short (3V potential difference source + 2 bulbs in series + short across 2nd bulb).
Demo #4: Complex Circuit (3V potential difference source + 2 bulbs in series + capacitor added in parallel with the 2nd bulb). Observe the brightness of both bulbs at the moment the capacitor is added and after it has been connected for a long time.

Important Observations: When the capacitor is 1st connected the bulbs initially behave as if the capacitor is a “short” in the circuit (a direct conductive pathway to the negative side of the battery), and after a long time the capacitor behaves as if it is not in the circuit, no current flows into or out of the wires connected to the capacitor.

This is a classic example of a standing wave which gets created in a material from small periodic disturbances (the wind).

As an application of the magnetic force on a current-carrying wire my AP Physics 2 class built small electric motors which reached rotational speeds of nearly 1000 rpm!

This video introduces students to another way to represent the motion of an object using something called a -motion map- other than position and velocity graphs. Motion maps use dots to represent the position of an object along a number line and arrows to represent the objects velocity (both speed and direction).

This video shows 3 ways you can induce a current in a loop of wire:
1. Change the strength of the magnetic field in a stationary loop of wire.
2. Move the loop into or out of a magnetic field
3. Rotate the loop of wire in a magnetic field

In our electric force lab we determined how the distance between two charged objects affects the size of the electric force between them.

This demonstration seeks to answer the following question: Does the amount of charge on an object also affect the size of the electric force between the two charged objects?

As a class, we will analyze these 3 examples of projectile motion to understand how objects move horizontally and vertically as they are launched into the air (with some initial velocity) and are only subject to the influence of the gravitational force of the Earth.

This video demonstrates and discusses the magnetic force on a current-carrying wire and demonstrates how to use the right-hand palm rule to predict the direction of the magnetic force.

This is the 2nd part of a video which teaches students how to create a 3D solid Adidas logo using Google Sketchup. Students will be creating 3D logo of their own and printing it on a 3D printer.

This video discusses 2 different scenarios which involve either the force of gravity or the force of friction doing work on a system. For each scenario I discuss different ways the system can be defined and how that definition affects the qualitative and quantitative analysis.

This video shows how 3 candle flames behave when they are placed in front of a speaker playing a 20 Hz sound. The later part of the video is slowed to 1/8 the original speed.

This video showcases the summer research we did at the University of Cincinnati. We joined Nanoworld Laboratories to work towards the creation of a lithium-sulfur fiber battery. The video also briefly discusses how we plan to implement a designed-based unit with our classes this coming year.
